I've checked that the 2019-1 Gargoyle interpreter I'm packing for Mac users continues to work under Big Sur.

Talk at intfiction.org suggests there may be a better (or at least alternate) text-to-speech/screenreader interpreter for Mac users: Spatterlight. It's in beta, but apparently plays pretty nicely with the Mac's native text-to-speech features, whereas Gargoyle tries to use its own custom code.
